Big moment for me today — our band Fuzz Collective is releasing our new single “You Know the Reason (feat. Eddie Roberts)” — the title track from our upcoming album also called You Know the Reason on modern soul label Color Red Music.
This one hits a little differently for me, both personally and professionally.
First: about the single. We recorded this track at the legendary 2200 Studios (formerly The Record Plant) — a space where artists like Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Sly and the Family Stone, and Tom Petty have created some of their most iconic records.
We tracked this session in Studio B — which is the room you’re seeing in the video above.
The album was produced and mixed by Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds, and it will be released both digitally and on vinyl in the coming months. The sound engineer was Matty McDavid, and the mastering engineer was Doug Krebs. We are eternally grateful.
Here’s a blurb from Eddie about our next album:
“From the moment they hit the first track I knew this album was going to be in a different league from the 1st. They should be really proud of what they created. ‘You Know the Reason’ captures the band taking a real leap forward.”
Also, huge props to my brothers in the band who brought this track to life: Tim Fisher on drums and vocals, Ethan Beard on bass and vocals, Pete Chung on harmonica and vocals Jason Tavano on keys and vocals
These guys work incredibly hard to balance their professional careers, family lives, and making music with Fuzz Collective — which makes every rehearsal, session, and show even more meaningful.
I spend most of my days with our team building Feed.fm, a company that helps brands license and integrate music into products and platforms. We work closely with artists, rights holders, and partners to make music move through the world in engaging and sustainable ways.
But I’m also still a practicing, gigging musician — writing songs, loading gear, rehearsing often late into the night, playing rooms, collaborating (occasionally with my heroes like Eddie Roberts and Michael Urbano), and staying connected as best I can to the real heartbeat of the music scene.
This release represents that commitment: Maybe you don’t have to choose between being a business person and being a creator. You can try to be both.
At Feed.fm, we’re not just licensing music — we’re musicians, artists, and DJs too. We understand the grind, the joy, the uncertainty, the magic, and the long arc of building a creative product. That perspective directly shapes how we partner with artists, labels, publishers, and all music rightsholders, and how we develop our platform to bridge the gap for businesses that want to use their music to build engagement.
Huge gratitude to Color Red Music for supporting this record and continuing to champion artist development, creativity, and community.
Would love for you to check out the video — and if you’re an artist, operator, founder, or music fan navigating multiple worlds, I’d love to hear how you’re balancing personal creation and professional building.
