When I think of Tacoma, I think of Frisko Freeze, Stadium high school, the Crescent Ballroom, The Sonics, and oddly, the Drug Purse. It's as if four boys were at the peak of their high and said to each other, "let's start a band". The Drug Purse is a Tacoma gem. You'd think that they would be your run of the mill garage band, but they're not. Only the perfect mix of psychedelic pop, a tinge of garage and maybe a hint of surf could sum up this band. It could be the drugs talking, but they are some of the nicest guys you could ever meet. At least around here. They're stealing the hearts of Portland already so here's my suggestion: get your off your asses and go see them June 28th at the Java Jive so they can feel the Washington love.
