Rock n Roll Reverends
Guess what...
The Shackeltons played at Easy Street yesterday.
What do I think of them?
Franz Ferdinand comes to mind.
Franz Ferdinand bent over as the sneaker of the Shackeltons finds its way up Franz Ferdinand’s ass also comes to mind.
Move over crap post punk indie bands, my heart has found a new metronome to swoon to. Through love ballads and tweaked out tales of insomnia, this band speaks to the modern lovers, the adventurers, and the abandoned house sleeper inners.
I dig that the lead singer, Mark Redding, obviously goes to church. I’m an ex catholic schoolgirl myself. He shook a branch of flowers like a bible and the repetition in the lyrics felt like Friday mass all over again.
Instead of praising the word of god, Redding spills the truth of skipping town (“Get Out”), pirate girlfriends (“Your Movement”), and insecure hearts (“Emergency”).
I highly recommend getting their self titled album. More so, I super duper highly recommend seeing this band live; the music is more enjoyable, and I’ve never seen a lead vocalist so pleased to connect with an audience through conversation.
And it doesn’t hurt that the boys of the Shackeltons are also super hot.. in a nerds gone wild in Pennsylvania kinda way.
