Seattle Music

Friday night was one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. The opening band were some locals called Roughchucker. They started up and the packed basement was moving like crazy. Half way through the set everyone was sweating and the smell brought me back to the days of Reno's awesome house shows( some times three in one night). They played raw punk with a slight pop influence and the volume was loud enough to make your ears bleed. The next band was The Besties, a poppie four piece from Brooklyn. The music made you want to pogo through the roof with their dual keyboards and female vocals. I love girl that can sing. Next was Snuggle, a fast paced local punk band that had people litarally glued to the ceiling. I imagine that it's hard to croud surf with only a foot and a half of head space but people were doing it. By the time Snuggle played there was hardly enough room to move in that tiny basement. I think the best part of the whole show was that the bands got to feast on our gourmet homade southern styled vegan food that set the mood full of smiles for the whole night.
