kexp, i want hip hop! i want glam rock! i want lounge!
''where the music matters''? i think they need to get their demographic straight, 'cause the music they keep on loop doesn't matter that much to me.

i've got to say dj riz has got it going on, however.

what do ya'll think?

I think KEXP more or less blows. Partly cuz it plays that same 'ol college rock rainy-day emotional krap it always does and partly cuz it could be sooo much better and it just isn't. One thing I really hate is the selective view of the scene. Many NW bands that outside the confines of Seattle were/are getting national and even international acclaim KEXP completely ignores, only to focus in on yet another Death Cab-esque artist. Blecch.

Ever check out WFMU? It's killer. www.wfmu.org

I think it's the best music radio station out there, that being said all/most radio is incredibly lame. So the title of "best music radio station", isn't really appropriate, "most tolerable music radio station" is better, but that title is way to long. Actually titles are dumb.

KEXP: not as good as my Itunes Library, but itunes doesn't sporadically give me good music recommendations.

It's a love/hate thing. Can't say that I hate when my band gets played on the radio once in a while (thanks, Brian Foss!), but then again, I can't much stomach anything other than Sonic Reducer.

You all should give 90.7 KSER a listen. We are completely independent, volunteer produced and listener supported. It's a very eclectic mix of musics, some you'll love and some you'll like and some that may not be to your taste, but it's all done by people who have a passion for the music they spin. Give it a try and let people know about this great station in Everett.
