This past thursday night Nashville bred pop-punk trio 'The Pink Spiders' suffered a major setback on their current sold out tour with the 'HorrorPops' and Seattle based 'Cute Lepers', when the school bus they just purchased caught fire and burned to the ground like midnight oil.
Along with the bus, the band lost everything. Lap-tops, tour cash, clothes...everything. They missed the next two shows in Atlanta and New Orleans but will re-join the tour tonight in Houston.
Fans of the Pink Spiders are anxiously awaiting the release of their new album 'Sweat It Out' on Geffen Records. The fire is really a shame but at least the band is all in tact. As we approach the 5 year anniversery of the Exploding Hearts tragedy that left 3 out 4 dead in a highway accident, it's important to remember the dangers that a touring band subject themselves to.
It's not all it's cracked up to be. Living and working on the road can be a wonderful thing and in an instant come crashing down like a thief in the night.
Just because the Pink Spiders are on Geffen Records doesn't mean that the band is financially set. Like most touring punk bands they live hand to mouth. There was a time when smaller bands on major labels were the recipiants of generous cash handouts, especially in times of need. It would just be written as a tax write-off for Guns and Roses for example. Well there's no more Guns and Roses that require this ample spending

and certainly not on a punk band who has no real connection with

the fledgling company anyhow. To make a donation, just go to Paypal. com, select "Send Money" and enter email address Meanbuzzrecords@gmail.com. You can also mail to us at P.O. Box 111763 Nashville Tn 37222
The bus was insured but we all know how long and painful that process
