Hot Tub + The Ting Tings at the Rickshaw
I hate hate hate going out. Especially since I got back from the UK. I am trying to save every last nickel. My pals at Popscene kindly put me on the list (plus one, since they are very very sweet) for the Ting Tings at the Rickshaw stop last night.
I also am such a little bratlet, I HATE opening bands. However, I was totally amazed and OVERJOYED by the discovery of Oakland's own HOT TUB. Three totally sexy ladies, rapping Peaches style, and "Man-bitches," and such- I can not remember the last time I saw a trio of lasses rock leopard print spandex tights, a large feather head dress and red cut away dresses (respectfully), so wonderfully. GO HOT TUB!
I spoke with Katie, the lead singer from the Ting Tings. Though claiming exhaustion from extreme jetlag, the "TTs" ROCKED both songs from their new EP and as yet unreleased tracks. I HEART HEART HEART THIS BAND! If you are going to S X SW, please do not miss these sweet peas from my home away from home, MANCHESTER!!
