Electro-cute Yourself!
What to say, What to say...Electro music. We all love it, whether its a guilty pleasure or we openly parade our love for it around in public! It's fun for all ages, it's more contagious than the chicken pox, and when you listen to it, You can't sit still for very long, try as you might, it's nearly impossible. It's the type of genre thats taken the world on a whilrwind ride. The bands on this scene rarely go out of commission,and the bands below are the ones I find MOST...well, entertaining.
Freezepop is a band thats been around since 1999, gaining fans steadily and rising. They get their name from the frozen snack, which is an obvious fact. If your a gamer and play the music oriented games, I'll bet you've seen them more then once, as they appear in Guitar Hero I & II, Karaoke Revolution, one of the many versions of Dance Dance Revolution, and was recently put on the game Rock Band. The band is pretty consistent in sound, that doesn't bother fans though. Freezepop is a fun band with fast paced songs, synths all over the place, and wicked beats. You cannot HELP but bob to their music, you'll find yourself singing some of their songs outloud to yourself. But, Hey...that's not your fault, the prescribed medication is to go home and emerse yourself in their music. Seriously, If you haven't heard of this band...Go to their Myspace or whatever and listen, You'll be a fan soon enough.
Ultraviolet Sound, The band doesn't get enough publicity. I just heard of them the other day, and as far as I know..I don't live underneath a rock. I was addicted from the first second I started the song 'Hot Hot Riot'. They have a sort of disco-y type of fun beat to them, with a bit of a sinister feel to them, And lead singer Sarah adds a kind of pop punk twinge to them. Don't know what I mean or believe me? Check them out!! We definitely need to keep an eye on this band. Beautiful, fun, amazing, and a band that plays dirty, Haha. I suggest to listen to 'Out Of Control' and 'Hot Hot Riot'. What are you waiting for?? GO LOOK 'EM UP!
Powerman 5000. Your ears are probably accuianted with the name. Powerman 5000 is not shy to audiences, what with being Rob Zombies kid brothers band and all. For those who want that darker type of feel, this band is for you. Addictive and wild, Powerman 5000 is one HOT band. Listening to his music, you can see that Rob Zombie and this band are tied together SOMEHOW. I remember driving home and hearing this band on the radio( the song was 'When Worlds Collide'), Back then I wasn't exactly in to them, but I was into Rob Zombie, and Boy these guys had a BIG RZ flavor to them. I went home, looked it up, and laughed at my stupity. For those who haven't heard this band (highly doubt there is ANYONE who hasn't heard of this band though) Go have a blast and see if you like them. Sure you will.
Hyper Crushis coming up as a big band. You can try and run and hide, they'll get you eventually. You hear there name in passing and pay no attention, til you hear them. BOOM! They hit us like a ten ton brick. They got us dancing to 'Boom Box' and 'Shes a freak'. We'll be dancing with our little friends in our room, while we are walking down the street, some will probably make those fans video's to the song!! We might be unsure about how the band might sound, but they are unexpectedly unique and entertaining, You'll be singing along in no time!
Justice. Not alot of people know this band, But they are a big deal. Coming from France, they caught most of us hook, line and sinker. With their most recent US Singles like 'D.A.N.C.E' and 'DVNO', I am surprised to hear the answer "No." when I ask someone if they've heard of the band. I often find myself singing 'D.A.N.C.E' to myself. If your reading this and you HAVEN'T heard of the band. Go...Go now...and look them up.
Combichrist is a well known band to all those club go-er's. This band is dirty and dark. Consisting of mainly Synths, Bass, and other sounds, it's something to party to (Duh! Otherwise it wouldn't be in clubs all the time, right?). If your into this kind of stuff Or if your just getting into this type of music, or...WHATEVER! You'll like this band. Great to help release some energy and keep in time with. Some good ones to go listen to will be 'Blut Royale', 'Get Your Body Beat', 'Play Dead', and 'WTFIWWY'.
There's always going to be more Electro bands, some better than these, some.....not so much.
But these SEEM to be the favorite of a lot of people, including me. So what are you waiting for?? Go look these bands up if you haven't already, and get some of their music! Rock out in your room or set it up for a party, point is: Go and party and have fun with these bands!.
