Gibson Robot Guitar?
I linked up with someone from Gibson in SF yesterday and they casually mentioned Gibson's limited edition "Robot Guitar." Huh? Basically, it's a guitar using some pretty crazy software and robotics to create a self-tuning guitar. You can tune to standard or several different open tunings. It's pretty wild. You can check out a video here. I haven't met anyone that's actually used this yet, but it's pretty nuts if it actually works. The initial limited editions sold out in December last year, but they have a Les Paul Studio version and a SG Special that lists for $3,999 and $3,599 respectively. Not too crazy about the finish, but the tuning capabilities are something to check out. For me, I'm still gonna tune my strings the old-fashioned way...

First self-tuning guitars, now what's next? Self-playing guitars?

If it can handle pythagorean commas, it has my attention.

RE: Gibson Robot Guitar?
I guess now tuning your own guitar has become "vintage"!
