New Slash Line of Les Pauls
I just stumbled on http://www.gibson.com/slash/ through a banner ad of all things. I know Slash has a sig. Les Paul but it looks like they're making 3 more models: a VOS ($5,880 MSRP), Standard ($3,499 MSRP) and an Epiphone Standard Plus Top ($1,464 MSRP). You figure street price is about 60-70% ish of MRSP.
I guess they're making it a big deal cuz they have a countdown on the site 'n everything.
How 'bout that.

Yeah, and it looks like Gibson is running a video contest on YouTube so folks can prove how much they love Slash... http://www.gibson.com/slash/videocontest/
It's a pretty steep price point, but the guitar certainly looks awesome. The Seymour Duncan Humbuckers will probably sound really good too...

quote: Jostel Hasonslash and his sound.. WOW , wish I had the duckets for one. I bet the upper crust G's sound fabulous... Jostel I love Slash's sound, his solo's are unmistakable, you know it's him every-time, no second guessing, that is defining a sound....
read his book. at one point he talks about the sound on the Appetite album. It was essentially a fluke... he's tried reproducing that signature sound with the exact same Marshall and guitar (Les Paul clone) and even he hasn't been able to get the same tone.
Nonetheless youre 100% right.... u hear 3 notes and you know its Slash
