The shift in the power structure of the music BUSINESS has been in the air for more than a minute. I did an interview for a San Francisco news station regarding P2P ala Napster about 5 years ago. She asked me, "So... how do you feel about all this FREE DOWNLOADING?" My Reply was, "It's here. It not going away, AND... It's not ACTUALLY hurting musicians. It's hurting The CORPORATIONS that exploit musicians. These corporations exploit their aquired artists in an unfair and negative way. Always have. This FREE DOWNLOADING thing is a war between the corporation and the consumer. The artist is stuck in the middle. So in reality for us it doesn't matter, because as artists, we've been fucked all along anyway. FREE DOWNLOADING is not the problem for musicians. It's the solution. There will be growing pains. But in the end, it will set us free."
It does not matter if you agree or disagree with me on this.
