I have a theory regarding the state of what calls itself the punk-scene:
At 1980 at the latest all punks fled from the punk-"scene" because of all the non-punks (who of course considered themselves to be punks) getting into it.
All other parts of society and all other subcultures were to a certain degree influenced by punk, which was even strengthened by punks coming there fleeing the punk-scene.
