This was a hit, actually, on the Quake...which was an all eighties station here in SF back in....the eighties. It got a ton of airplay. It's funny to look back at all those bands that were interpreted as so subversive at the time (old Black Flag, pre Rollins, RKL, even the Dead Milkmen) and understand from a rear view perspective how totally innocent those times were...but at the same time, how dangerous it has proven to attempt to maintain that innocence as a "lifestyle." I still love the role playing from the eighties - the celebration of individualism - I guess I'm really referring back to the politics of those times and how the influx of media helped to smooth over and obscure the sting of decisions made.
