Bio
Red Canyon Studios is a project studio that I started when I wanted to record myself and not worry about being on the clock at a big studio. I wanted to express myself as a musician, not to get recognition but to leave something of myself for my family and kids. I've always had a passion for music and love to hear all sorts of music genres - from Tony Bennett to Metallica. I first started playing an instrument in junior high (trombone), and it was a natural fit. From there, I taught myself how to play the bass guitar. I learned to play by ear. I have also played guitar and dabbled with keyboards. I've recorded my own EP and am working on numerous other projects. Eventually I'll get back to recording myself again.
As I started to acquire more equipment in order to record my music, my passion for recording, mixing, and being on the "other side of the glass" emerged. So now I'm also recording others for hire. I try to use and capture what the artist wants and not get in the way of what I think they want or need. I want the artist to be able to express their passion and record what comes out, not "push something out". The artist has something to say and it's the engineer's job to capture that moment. Through trial and error I've come out with ideas to capture those moments. I've been able to record some great musicians and artists. I've even had the chance to record some voice over work.
I use ProTools, analog and digital gear. I offer recording, mixing, and mastering services to fulfill your needs or dreams. I can give you complete CD packaging. l also can offer video services if needed. See what we can offer you!
