Rage Against the Machine in NYC
I thought I would share a few pictures from the Rock the Bells event on Randall's Island in NYC. I'm a horrible photographer, but I had such a great time and thought I'd share anyway. It was a sweltering HOT day with humidity at its peak. A bunch of us caught the ferry from 34th Street and headed up the East River to the event. There were thousands of folks at the stadium that were geared up to see some incredible acts including Public Enemy, the Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, and Mos Def to name a few. A special wahoo out to Maureen who set us up with our tickets - she was on the Yearbook Committee (let's see how long this takes for her to freak out) with Tom Morello in high school...
Anyway, if tickets aren't already sold out, I highly suggest checking out any of the upcoming events in the next few weeks. They'll be at McCovey Cove in San Francisco in a few weeks. It should be a blast!
Commotion on the stage before the set...

The Crowd is going nutz!

What a show!

We heckle Tom

The power of music on the collective psyche is definitely a theme that should be parsed out in many useful contexts: from the socio-political to the mundane.
I'm jealous you get to see them twice, and very happy you had a blast! (Yes, a SPECIAL wahoo to Maureen!!!) Looking forward to my first Rage show in SF.
What did you heckle to Tom?!?
One of my high school friends who has found a fair bit of success as an actor/model/musician just bought Zack de la Rocha's house in the Hollywood Hills and was PISSED that Zack removed the music studio from the bottom level (apparently his Realtor swore it would make it sell better -- thoughts, Abigail?).
Curious, isn't it, that your house isn't referred to as your house until you sell it?
And what is it about being famous that that you aren't famous until someone can mention that they sat next to you in class? Reminds me of the time Jason Kidd dunked on me freshman year of high school.
