Savium is an artist playing solely instrumental music from Denmark that I came across this morning. I have never heard an artist that covers so many different genres and manages to successfully put them together in one seamless flow. His technical chops are serious - he mixes metal with jazz with reggae, ska, rock, with increditbly tight changes (some of which are purposely hilarious). Moreover, this artist incorporates complex time signature changes and counter-rythmic ideas leave me wanted to get back into the tool shed to practice my own chops with a metronome. Not to sound over technical, but his stuff is really just enjoyable to listen to and keeps me wanting to find out what crazy transition he's about to go into... Still with me? OK - think the Police meets Rush meets Pat Metheney meets the Soundtrack for Running Man or Escape from New York (lol) meets Bill Frissel. Oh, and I think this artist plays all of the instruments... off the fucking hook! Check this guy out!
