blog Best Pizza in SF
If you are playing a show at the Rockit Room (formerly the Last Day Saloon), or just happen to be on Clement Street in the Richmond, you gotta check out Giorgio's Pizzeria. I know that everyone has their favorite spot, but this joint has been around for decades and is absolutely amazing. Don't believe me? Try it yourself - the Giorgio's Special is one of the best combo pizzas I've ever had - sausage, salami, pepperoni, mushrooms - pure perfection. When I was a kid, I used to look forward to "Pizza Night" for days. We'd walk 10 blocks to "pizza nirvana" on the corner of 3rd Avenue and Clement. I'm sure this contributed to me being the fat kid on the block, but it was worth the ridicule. Check it out. Good luck finding parking, but it's worth it...

The one and only "Giorgio's Special"

I think it should be in the running for the world's worst website, but for more info check out:

OK, so take me to lunch there next time I'm out. But lose the mushrooms.

This is beginning to sound like Lefsetz and his East Coast pizza raves! He's nuts. West coast pizza is loads better - I've been kickin' around both the nice coast and the left coast longer than most, buying more pizza than probably anyone on this site.

I agree Giorgios' pizza is one of the best; BUT IT'S GOT TO BE THEIR SPECIAL! Tell Maux it's not nice to be so picky about the shrooms.

Two comments -

1) Agreed - Lefsetz is dead wrong about East Coast Pizza...
2) Maux - I know you betta than you think!

I randomly waltzed into this place while waiting for my laundry to finish a couple months ago and ordered a slice of the special you speak of. Freaking phenomenal. I haven't been back for a full, fresh, made-to-order pizza, because I simply can't believe it gets any better than their by-the-slice that I stumbled upon. But I'm looking forward to trying it.

You are all completely wrong. Chicago Pizza is better than the NY Saltine crust, over-cheesed slab of oil-soaked limpness OR the West Coast veggie-smothered, saltless, lightweight brick oven excuse for a pizza.

I'll take you to Pizzeria Uno or Giordano's when you're in Chicago. But, OK, I still want to try Giorgio's. Now ask me about Brats.

Ummmmm, hope it taste better than it looks there in that pic, sure it probably does. Perhaps its because it's morning time and I'm currently slow. But wait, I used to always eat cold pizza in the a.m. when I was kid so, oh well. I'm very fond of The Cheeseboard in Berkeley myself, and also Arzmendi (same co.)
