Bands
Bio
I'm going to try something new here and keep this extremely informal:
I was born in Los Angeles, grew up listening to rock, jazz, classical, Armenian and Arabic music. I've played in many bands. I went on to become a member of the Grammy-Award winning band SHADOWFAX, was nominated for a Grammy, appeared on Buddha-Bar and Buddha-Bar IV (...and still waiting to get paid my mechanical royalties after more than 5 years from those bastards!), toured with Cirque du Soleil's SALTIMBANCO, and somewhere in between found the time to release my solo CDs, "Ceremonies" and "Caravans." I even held an auction on eBay selling my soul to the highest bidder so I can raise money to release "Caravans." You can read more about it on my site http://armen.tv as well as seeing a more formal bio if you're interested.
Both titles are released on my own label, TruArt Records. I also have a blog at http://armenblog.com where you can follow my ongoing wacky adventures.

thank you for befriending me!
Hope you have fun here on Fuzz :-)
Cheers,

I just have to say that I REALLY enjoy the music you are putting out there. I am a musician myself, but not nearly good enough to start creating my own, so I support everyone else.
Your pieces have such a beautiful world attached behind them. I hope that I can one day be able to create my own.
Take Care!

There are only a handful of bands that I can listen to indefinitely and so therefore have to own all their music. Jethro Tull, Shadowfax, Kansas (except Dust in the Wind, yccccchy!) Gentle Giant, Rush and Klaatu. These are those who made me want to keep writing, to keep trying to find that space that they created for me where I become absorbed by the sounds and spacings, nuances and tickled counterpoints, true poetry in word and scale - only a handful of my own compositions get close to that. Still, I haven't run out of ideas or steam and if I get anywhere close to that despair, any one of those bands can put me right in no time.
One of my missions aside from my own creations is to try and let those bands' members know what they've done for me - so they understand that they were (are) a refuge for a potentially lost soul, a lifeboat to a drowning dreamer, a sacred and spiritual 'fix' for an empathic romantic junkie who still believes in humanity and the potential for art and the individual to make a difference in our world - in the destiny of our species. Okay, that's real scary deep, I know, but it's the truth.
Please know that your expressions in Shadowfax do exactly what I mention above, as does the new material from all of you - you bestow hope unto my soul to this day.
And I was fortunate enough to be blessed with a daughter who was receptive to this and is equally affected by those creations. For years she couldn't go to sleep before listening to an entire album of Shadowfax while I would hum along to her and make dancing shadow puppets in the glow of a candle on her closed eyelids. I tear up now...sniff
Soooooo, finding you active and all still making wonderful art - I wanted to take extra time with this response to you while I have the chance...please past it along if opportunity presents...sometimes life has other things in store for us...
I hope somehow Chuck knows too...
Always honored!

The nodal connections within the existing Fuzz base of registered users is quite easy to effect [just click away as inclination or instinct serves you where you think there may be some interest in your work or comments.]
The more heavy-lifting, to get non-registered users to check out your work here at Fuzz, is up to you [isn't it always] - although some of us will try as well on your behalf. Let's see how Armen and Fuzz can make beautiful music together.
ps: any relation to Karen? Or is this another of those strange coincidences that keep occurring as you describe elsewhere.
