I don't blog very often. I guess I don't want to write something unless I feel it's important and an issue that deserves further though or that at least others may find interesting. This time it's because I'm pissed.

Check out this article on TechCrunch that fuzzygroove sent my way: Music Tax Details From Source: “Pay Us Not To Sue You”.

The gist is that Warner Music is proposing a music tax of $5 / month which will serve as a protection racket of sort for ISP's from lawsuits. Of course, Warner is trying to get other labels involved as well. Technically the tax isn't mandatory, but it's your ISP's decision not yours. Don't get me wrong here; I very rarely (if ever) download illegal music and almost always purchase the music of bands I like because I believe in supporting them, but I don't want to be forced to pay more to access the internet so the majors can have another way to bolster their failing business models. Do you?

So I had an interesting idea that I thought would help people get to know my musical tastes better and hopefully (need everyone's help here!) let me get a better idea of yours and (hopefully) let us all check out some new music along the way.

Here goes: I've picked 10 of my favorite CD's, which by the way turned out to be pretty f'in difficult, and listed them below. Pick one (or more!) you haven't heard of and check them out, then post your own list. Rinse, repeat, new music. Hell, if you end up liking something, then you'll have a fan's recommendation for the CD to pick up. Ready set GO!

Strung Out - The Element of Sonic Defiance
A Wilhelm Scream - Ruiner
Hot Water Music - Caution
AFI - Black Sails in the Sunset
BoySetsFire - Tomorrow Come Today
Rx Bandits - The Resignation
Lagwagon - Let's Talk About Feelings
Thrice - The Illusion of Safety
Good Riddance - Ballads of a Revolution
Saves The Day - Through Being Cool
