We released a video clip a couple weeks ago that hinted at what Calexico had been cooking up for the past two years since Garden Ruin. The brief audio sample played throughout that clip was only a snippet of the expansive, sonically-blooming track that is “Two Silver Trees.”
The song is fairly indicative of what’s to come from Calexico throughout the whole of their new full-length album Carried To Dust—from the scene-setting, warmly reposed intro to the catchy, more powerfully constructed chorus. “Two Silver Trees” is a collaboration of sounds and ideas and what results of the unique parts is one cohesive, familiar feel.
Enough blabbering, just download and enjoy the thing: MP3

We’re pretty psyched because yesterday, July 6, The New York Times Magazine featured an exceptional, in-depth article about CocoRosie. It's an extensive piece that details the history of Bianca and Sierra Casady, including their enigmatic, eccentric musical and familial lineage. CLICK HERE to read.
Also, a quick reminder: the physical release of CocoRosie’s "God Has a Voice, She Speaks Through Me" limited-edition 7" picture disc is tomorrow, July 8. You can get your hands on a copy by ordering it directly from your favorite online retailer.

Download free MP3 of Calexico's "Crystal Frontier"</h4><p>Maybe you remember our super awesome news last week about Calexico getting played IN SPACE. Well, we thought about it some more, and we're still pretty stoked, and really, if Martians and astronauts are going to get to hear "Crystal Frontier" for free, why not you, right? So, we're pleased to offer up a free MP3 download of "Crystal Frontier" for the rest of the space mission, through landing day June 14.
You'll be able to actually hear the astronauts waking up to Calexico on Flight Day 14, June 13, by checking out NASA TV live at around 3am EST (check your local provider). If you miss it, starting at 8pm every hour on the hour they run the highlights starting with the wake up song. Also, the whole thing is live on www.nasa.gov - just click on watch NASA TV live.
Special Thanks to Congresswoman Gail Giffords, a big Calexico fan, and her husband, Shuttle Commander Mark Kelly for making this happen.

Spend some time in “Chicago” - new MP3 from The Uglysuit
In our quest to get out the good word about new Quarterstick signees The Uglysuit, we thought "Why not just let the music preach the good word?" So in lieu of explaining every last detail about the Oklahoma City natives and their fresh, infectious, atmospheric sound, we present the debut single from The Uglysuit’s forthcoming self-titled album, out August 19. It just so happens that the song is named after Touch & Go/Quarterstick’s home city, Chicago. Take it from us - no place is better in the summer, and the same goes for this jam.
