The Fuzz Manifesto includes a stated mission to build a fair, open, powerful, and participatory platform based upon, among other strongly affirmed beliefs, honest and transparent business practices. I endorse this objective and thus provide a statement of my background and a disclosure of where I'm coming from.
I. Background. thecapitalclinic or, sometimes, TheCapitalClinic is just a vehicle and repository of ideas of Tom Yasuda ("TYY") about "capital formation" and our evolving social order developed over many decades as a Survivor [dispossed and incarcerated for being on the wrong side of a war]; Student [Dartmouth and Harvard Law]; Soldier [naval officer, in-country Vietnam counter-insurgency advisor]; and Suit [attorney, corporate exec, fiduciary, venture capitalist]. In time, one becomes pretty adept at playing the "Success Game" as Survivor/Student/Soldier/Suit [phi-beta-kappa; bronze star; first "minority" partner in a major SF law firm; group managing director of a public-listed company].
II. A Second Chance. Thankfully, I've moved beyond my own environment of superimposed constraints [in my case, "the four S's" described above*] and discovered my core self, as husband, father, serial entrepreneur, and iconoclast. At long last, I have full and unfettered control of my own destiny and have been given a second chance. I am determined not to screw up the opportunity most don't have to have another go around. I believe that we all, truly, live in a transitional period in which everyone on the planet can transcend one's own crucible of enforced circumstance. Just shed all the bull-shit attitude that clutters your mind and persona [fuzz is getting to me] and commit to positive change.
III. Disclosure. While the views herein and elsewhere are freely and independently expressed by thecapitalclinic and Assessor [as proxies for TYY) and do not necessarily constitute a Fuzz endorsement, TYY is a related and committed financial/social/cultural/moral stakeholder in Fuzz and the Fuzz Manifesto. What's more, as stated elsewhere, Jeff, a founder and CEO of Fuzz, is a "chip off of the ol' block".
Participants in the Fuzz experiment should reach their own conclusions whether the foregoing colors or compromises any views that are so expressed by TYY, thecapitalclinic, and/or Assessor.
*Everyone has one's own unique story to tell. What's yours?
