This is a prediction written in the early days of promulgation of the Fuzz Manifesto on why its statement of beliefs will be a resonating force for change. The Manifesto obviously has broader implications than the immediate context that it purports to address. Music is now, and has always been, a compelling proxy for everything that touches the human spirit. Read the Fuzz Manifesto once again and ponder. Its full message will dawn upon and empower all participants who are drawn to its call for action, step by inevitable step.

TCC has written elsewhere on the pernicious effects of the micro-economics of the dispossessed and the growing awareness among many that change must occur lest those who no longer have a stake in the present order slip over the precipice of chaos. Many are concerned and have made major personal commitment to become change-agents to prevent degradation of our societies in many contexts.

The post-modernist [decentralized] mood of the times is a combination of grassroots protest [direct action] and party [the festival] that converges in our music of "street cred" and "the scene". Those who "get it" are calling for change. Change is always bottom up and not top down. The overlords never "get it" because that is structurally impossible.

The social movement of DIY culture, being a culture of political activism and grassroots celebration, is gaining a web-enabled momentum and frustrated participants, first Artists and Fans, but more broadly an entire underclass of the dispossessed and disaffected, are just waiting for the spark to set off a revolution.

This is the call and the broader promise of the "Music Uprising". The spark has been ignited.
