[This is a reposting of part of an ongoing blog at uzi's page "Photos: NOMO, Honeycut..." on the subject of finding stuff/ - check it out]

[TCC]"I have been obsessing of late about the problem of explosive online communities like Fuzz and data management so this new place for musicians and empassioned music nuts does not descend "into the living hell of data chaos" like the OtherSpace. I think the Fuzz team is leagues ahead of the game, but it's still incumbent upon the user community to do some of the heavy-lifting and be creative as well, to bring their own sense of Order and Energy to this unique place.

Thus, for example, to take up a case close to your own heart, in terms of data management on the Fuzz site that is specifically directed to finding and filing Uzi photos - which is a commendable exercise, I just tried two search and indexing techniques on the "Buzz" page news feed with two completely different results:

1. First, I tried inserting the word, uzi, in the search box under "News Feed" and got the notice that my search string must be at least three characters long and got 0 results for my "uzi" search. [Funny thing, I thought u z i was three characters, count 'em, so I think they meant at least four characters - but whatever :=)]

2. Second and for the good news on data management at Fuzz, I then inserted the word, uzishots, in the same word search box. Voila! I got 42 of your blog entries!!! with all of the rad uzi pics in (a) chronological order [most recent first] when I left the optional toggle as "Newest entry" or "Latest comment" and (b) order of most comments, starting with the record 36 comments on your Apr 18 post, when I toggled to "Most comments" in conjunction with searching "uzishots". When and if the Fuzz tech team gets a "Most viewed" toggle we will have another rad method to index your photo blogs [in order of how your viewers checked them out].

Now, whenever I have have an uzi pic fix, I just go to the Fuzz Buzz page and search the unfiltered word, uzishots, a unique label that foretunately you used consistently in each of your blogs [at least I think you did]; and I have a quick and awesome way to retrieve all of your photos.

The user "heavy-lifting" and "creativity" part of the data management exercise is that the Fuzz users have to explore and work the Fuzz platform that is proving to be infinitely flexible in capturing and feeding back content [that is, you have to work to find stuff - it is never "lost in space"]. Additionally, if you have unusual words like, "uzishots" or "thecapitalclinic" that consistently show up in your blogs/reviews/news, the internal Fuzz word search function works quite nicely to find and retrieve such content. If your name is more widely used, like Karen, you need to create [at least prospectively] a unique tag, like KarenT, for example, to narrow the search function. [At least until the Fuzz team comes up with other neat retrival and indexing functions that I think they will - just something else to add to their "bazillion things to do" list.

Anyhow, I now have found a neat way to find uzishots and thecapitalclinic blogs of this great site. [I will repost this comment in my blog space as well in hopes that it will help others in the all-important and ongoing data management exercise that we should work on to keep this place and its content manageable.]"

Thanks, guys. See, I fixed it! [no more excessive bold-face] I forgot to add the / in the closing that I wanted to do in bold. Even "computer-challenged" old guys like me, can work this site. Terrific!!!
