Hey, DD [David Douglas -our faithful and plugged-in Fuzz Reviewer - check him out], I just came across your review of ZAMAN 8's Sukra (Venus) in the "recent activity" tag on the Fuzz Music page. I'm glad you reviewed this piece and share my own opinion about the quality of the work and the group generally - although with a different, but as usual informative, take on it. It reminded me that I committed earlier to review the group myself when I first heard their postings at...
Hey, where the heck was I the first time June April uploaded "Tick Tock" and "Fear vs. Faith"! I should have checked out these songs just on the pulling power of the intriguing titles alone (time and inspiration should get to us everytime).
I'm glad, thanks to INNO's comments that I came across while surfing the Fuzz site today, that I circled back from June to Aprill to have a listen to these signal, but different, pieces.
Ms. April has an upbeat, schooled, and...
[This is a reposting of part of an ongoing blog at uzi's page "Photos: NOMO, Honeycut..." on the subject of finding stuff/ - check it out]
[TCC]"I have been obsessing of late about the problem of explosive online communities like Fuzz and data management so this new place for musicians and empassioned music nuts does not descend "into the living hell of data chaos" like the OtherSpace. I think the Fuzz team is leagues ahead of the game, but it's still...
Fuzz' current number one [or number five] blogger, Miss Bella [depending on how you count], with insatiable and irrepressible curiousity, asked me the other day "Why are you The Capital Clinic?!!!"
This is a fair question to which I responded as follows [by the way, I prefer the words of my moniker to run together as thecapitalclinic for better tagging and identification and to facilitate online word searches at Fuzz and elsewhere - not a bad idea for Fuzz newbies who wish to...
For me, it's another wonderful. lazy Sunday. I am surfing the net and the Fuzz site with my player and my playlists on, tinkering with my Music Bank, adding a few songs, dropping some, just "consuming culture."
Lots going on here. Clicking on new artists, randomly adding a few interesting network connections, checking out "recent activity", experimenting with the various search browsers, genre filters - being surprised. Making a few comments, straight or otherwise...
[Note: This blog was updated on Feb 29, 2008 [Leap Year!] to add the Tooker/Marqui Adora Essay on Gig Math Part II][Commentary on Part I posted in June, 2007]
To: Tooker/Marqui Adora [and readers of my blogs]:
"Your blog on Gig Math [found at the left nav "NEWS" section of your Band Blog] is a fantastic piece on the musicians' reality. It's specific and documented in detail and deserves greater exposure [like your music] so the larger [Fuzz] community can share your...
I listened to "Don't Start That Again" [rough mix] several times. Drum tracks sound fine to me, but perhaps less "full" in percussive counterpoint to the Cantona remix of energetic guitar licks and dj danger nun's distinctively lyrical sound when compared to some of the group's older pieces with similar tempo and assumed intent [End of a Trend/Skirt Chaser].
Maybe the tracks in their latest manifestation uploaded at Fuzz were re-worked so much [see...

While site surfing at Fuzz, I was testing the "way cool" new word search feature on the Fuzz Buzz page randomly inserting words and came across Dr. James Peterson's long but fascinating essay posted as a blog on "B-Boy Rules for Hip Hop Intellectuals".
At long last, I found a blog that is longer than mine usually are [a criticism not lost on me].
Those interested in Hip Hop as a genre and/or social...
Although JS has not posted any songs yet, check out this video on Jay Seidl's work - a tribute to John Lennon.
Pretty hard to top David Douglas' earlier review of "For the Sake of Love" as a fellow, more discerning, musician [than me], but as I was Fuzz surfing I came across your request for opinions from the Fuzzy people [presumably of all sorts], so here goes:
1. The whole range of things that you list as being done for the sake of "Love" gives one pause and a lot to think about. Love takes on ominous meanings with each thing you mention seriatim. Indeed, you become aware...
For those who have not yet found and tried it, check out the "Recent Activity" tab on the left nav MUSIC box at the top of the Fuzz Music page. You get an expanded version of the Tic Toc activity monitor to see what's going on with the Fuzz Artists as it happens. This is better than Rolling Stone, Spin, and other fanzines and daily music sheets put together!
Also, check out the word search function that the Fuzz folks developed at the left nav "Playlists" in the MUSIC...
I have recently been exploring the network dynamics of the Fuzz site with particular reference to the evolving participation of many Artists that include well-established professionals, artists on the cusp of broader exposure, to youngsters just beginning to test the world of the possible [see, for example, Sarah Bettens, The Nightwatchman, The Lovemakers, Maldroid, David Douglas, Cantona, Campbell Natale, Kustoo, Zaman 8, Nux Vomica, Nathalie, to name just a few of my own favs – you will...
