blog This is a trial: Just a technical "Poke"

As I understand the current state of the art of the Fuzz site, every time you create a new blog on your My Fuzz page, everyone who has added you as a "friend" on his/her page but not everyone that you added as a "friend" on your page [and, of course, as expected and appropriate, these respective lists are not always the same], your new blog shows up on the default tab of that other person's own My Fuzz page [blogs of your friends]. This function conveniently operates at Fuzz as a "Poke" in the place where you mostly hang out, to let you know and to immediately and automatically see that your "friend" said something that may [or may not] interest you for you to click on. [And the comment box opens invitingly for you to respond once you click on the blog poked.]

However, if you add a comment to a pre-existing blog as part of the secondary "blog thread" the same kind of Poke doesn't happen. Thus, this forces you go out and manually follow many blog threads that you may be interested in. As memory fades, sometimes this is not possible. Maybe, the Fuzz guys will come up with a neat solution to give "secondary Pokes" or automatic feeds of some kind when you "tick the box."

Anyways, the main point of this blog is to poke you readers of my blog [those who "befriended" me on your page, but not necessarily those that I befriended on my page] that there is some interesting secondary tthread action on Joe Shockley and my blogs on the important subject of how artists can make a living in this wild period of transition in the music industry. [I did not want to overly clutter the site or my page by creating yet another blog and "cutting and pasting" de novo a lot of, to me, good stuff in a fresh blog because this could get really confusing.]

I hereby Poke you to give us some reaction.

Well, I was at the Altamont Landfill today because our neighborhood garbage hasn't been picked up in a month. WoW, I forgot what a whole lot of old, rotting, fuming garbage smells like. The wife was with me, what a trooper she is.

Man, all I can say is everything is going to be uphill from now on in all my endeavors after a trip to the center of "the bottom of the planet's barrel".

Excuse me if I didn't contribute this time, but I'm stilling trying to get the smell out of my nose. I burned the clothes! HA!

If I may play devil's advocate, the size of socks may or may not have a correlative association with pokes.

we had a bug a while ago that was actually cool. when a friend received a comment on a blog it moved to the top of the "friends blogs" tab on the my fuzz page...

essentially if i added a "friends only" filter on the Bizz page we'd have the same result. maybe ill do that tomorrow if i remember

Yes, tracking blogs you've commented on would be a very, very welcome addition. You know, along with free beer and puppies.

This would be a good discovery tool to have comments of your "friends only" to pop up the the top of a list on the Buzz page if you use a filter, but I thought this result was already happening in the ["blogs from your friends"] tab that sits center stage as a default page on your My Fuzz Page.

The great thing about the current set-up is two-fold
(1) as far as it relates to new blogs of your friends, it automatically pops up to the top of the list of blogs on your default My Fuzz page so you can check it out if the title and the first few sentences sound interesting and because it is a new blog from your friends.
(2) as far as it relates to comments made by anyone [friends or not] on your own blogs, you automatically get a "poke" as a PM that "xyz made a comment, etc. etc" which prods you to check out that comment by simply clicking on the link in the PM that directly takes you to the comment in question, thus allowing you to check it out and comment in return.

What I had in mind, and cameron obscura seems to agree with me and I suspect many others, is that if you make a comment on someone else's blog and then the original blogger or someone else then comments on your comments, there is some way this blog you've commented upon [that may or may not be from one of your friends] goes to the top of a list or does something automatically that you will notice [like a prod] for you to check out. In other words the site does the tracking for you automatically with a "top of the list" function or a PM poke or an automatic link pop-up or semething like that so you don't have to rely on your memory and then go through many, many blogs to track development on blogs in which you participated.

Anyways, I know you folks have a bazillion other things to do and you will come up with something along the foregoing when you have time. This is not a "priority" item but a "good to have" one, I think. Cheers
