Well, it took me a long time to get here, but as of August 20, 2007 at 4:00 pm I got 10,000 page views on my profile page from my Fuzz Friends and persons unknown out in the ww web who casually visit the site and who found me here.

As I wrote often in earlier blogs, it is my thesis that the amount of "network energy" rises as a function of the number of Fuzz Friends you have, who in turn may make you their "friend" [of course, not everyone does that] but does so non-linearly. It's non-linear in the sense that the "output" [page views or network energy] is disproportionate to "input" [your friends or those who befriended you]. In fact, the network connections and "energy" in your particular corner of the network [represented in part by your Profile views] increase according to a power law [the precise mathematical/Metcalf formula to be determined by better IT quants than moi]. The greater your friends and connections befriending you, the greater your incremental page views and the level of network energy.

So you ask, what's the big deal about page views? In my view, to the extent your page views grow without gaming the system with artificial clicks, the level of energy of your Fuzz presence increases and you give "serendipity" a chance to play her part. {Sorry, I always think of serendipity as a woman due to my classical training] That is why I suggested in earlier blogs, to enhance energy and to give serendipity a better chance, even to be fairly "promiscuous" with the "add to friend" tab [of course, this is up to you and your inclination regarding whom you feel may be an interesting connection - and not everyone will be - but that's life].

The second leg in the Fuzz energy build-up for me from 10,000 to 20,000 Profile views will, I hypothesize, grow at an even faster rate than before for several reasons (1) I will continue to add to my base of approx 400 friends, so the base and the incremental number of connections will reinforce energy levels; (2) I have completely changed my home page Profile to make it a more dynamic "Living Value Index" to create more, and better, organized personal and network Content, so the network connectors [both friends and random visitors] will have more to see and, hopefully, find something useful or amusing; (3) the entire Fuzz universe itself is growing which will stimulate incremental energetic connections; and (4) finally,...I can't tell you.

TCC,
Let me be the first to congratulate you on so many page views. I also think that your ability to stimulate the mind with your insightful and intelligent blogs goes a long way in keeping the intrest of visitors and Fuzz members alike. It is a reason why I too return to your page(s) so often. Continue to inspire us all with your thoughts and new methods here at Fuzz.

Rising profile views make me happy. I just wish I could actually do something with them. I need to start a band or something.
