Before last.fm banned me because I criticized their sloppy handling of the growing numbers of racists and fascist, I wrote some blogs which may be worth to be re-released here...

Once I wrote a patchwork lyric blog. I tried to take excerpts of song lyrics out of context to create a new text, a story made out of lyrical samples. I doubt that the ways how to tell stories or express emotions are unlimited. So the real challenge for musicians, poets or painters these days is to cobble all different sorts of things together and form a mosaic of thoughts, feelings, sounds, words and pictures. It's way better to recycle brilliant pieces than to create mediocre stuff on your own. So here is a re-recycled blog:

Looking for and finding nothing

All around you people walking
Empty hearts and voices talking
Looking for and finding
Nothing.

Eels - Love of the Loveless

Everybody goes
Leaving those
Who fall behind
Everybody goes
As far as they can
They don't just care
You're a wasted face
you're a sad-eyed lie
You're a holocaust.

Son Volt - Holocaust

Listen here my sister and my brother
What would you care if you lost the other?
I always wonder why did we bother,
Distanced from one, deaf to the other.

R.E.M. - Sweetness Follows

This is a lonely life
Sorrows everywhere you turn
And that's worth something
When you think about it.

Paul Simon - The Coast (Remastered Album Version)

I was burned out from exhaustion buried in the hail
Poisoned in the bushes and blown out on the trail
Hunted like a crocodile ravaged in the corn
"Come in" she said
"I'll give you shelter from the storm".

Steve Adey – Shelter from the storm

All the stars may shine bright,
All the clouds may be white,
But when you smile,
Oh how I feel so good,
That I can hardly wait
To hold you,
Enfold you,
Never enough,
Render your heart to me.
All mine,
You have to be.

Portishead - All Mine

I gave you my love
But I was living a dream
And living would seem in vain
If I lost you.

Nina Simone - If I Should Lose You

In the morning I'd awake and couldn't remember
What is love and what is hate - the calculations error
Oh-oh-oh-what is love and what is hate
And why does it matter - is to love just a waste
Why does it matter - oh - oh - ooh - ???

The Flaming Lips - In the Morning of the Magicians

In a dream I saw you walkin, with your friends alive and talking - that was you.
Well I saw it in your movement - and even though you never knew it -
Well, I knew, just how sweet it could be - if you'd never left these streets.
You had me worried! So worried - that this would last...
But now I'm learning - learning that this will pass...

My Morning Jacket - Dondante

I took it for love
Or at least something beautiful
Out there in the spotlight
But I turned around suddenly,
Turned around squinting
And saw
That it was headlights.

Great Lake Swimmers - Moving pictures silent films

In my repeated dreams
You stare at me with an empty gaze
You turn your back on me
And you search for more intriguing days.

Ane Brun - Rubber & Soul

I don't understand why Last.fm would kick you off for your criticism. These communities need more people like you to be on the side of angels otherwise the "darkside" [maybe inherent in human nature - but I hope not] can overwhelm these places.

As to your re-recycled blogs, they are each part of a string of pearls that might be rearranged in different series and context to create their own new beauty like a Louise Nevelson "assemblage" or collage.

By the way the light blue that you used should be made darker so these little pearls of wisdom and surprise can be more easily read. [Hey, thanks to you and DifferentStars I changed over to the Firefox browser and used for the first time the embedded BBcoding to create the color. Pretty neat.]

Jostel's question marks urge me to add something to the blog. There are three ways to create a piece of art: 1. Drawing inspiration from other artists and acknowledge that by using portions of their work as quotes. For example: I remember being impressed that each chapter of Stephen King's book Christine started with song lyric quotes about the fascination of cars. Here's a music example: Composer Greg Hale Jones used early 20th century vocal recordings to in a complete different musical setting on the following CD. 2. Another option is to commit some sort of plagiarism. How many tunes we listen to are weak attempts to copy a certain musical style. Remember the Grunge or Trip hop hype when hundreds of new bands tried to sound the same like their idols hoping to draw profit from the hype. 3. Creating some thing totally new and unique. Well I consider this to be the toughest part because the result can be disappointing. I doubt if anyone can forget their cultural background and the musical inspirations. Anyhow, it's a fine line between creating masterpieces or mediocre stuff no one really cares about.

And well, the light blue looks like pretty neat on my screen:

Well I was banned with my former Last.fm account because I told the stuff that sentences like "Adolf Hitler was a visionary who started a crusade against the jewish vermin that infest our planet. Are you doing your part in the crusade? Have you killed a jew today?" or "Adolf Hitler gave the kikes free train rides, free holiday camping, and free showers. WTF are they complaining about?" are unacceptable and after my repeated complaints I issued an ultimatum before informing human rights organization monitoring anti-semitism about last.fm. At least in my country you have to go to jail for praising Hitler or wearing a Nazi swastika for example. Due to the fact there are many teenagers on Last.fm I considered sentences like this on profile pages to be against the protection of minors. Countries like Germany do have very strict laws about protecting minors. ANY online community is bound to laws and to moral principles. Recently Last.fm did not remove user tags with a list of songs which perfectly fit for killing 10 million jews with a blunt knife. How much hate speech can be allowed in a community?

Good points SVT. Very nice indeed. I think that everyone steals from their favs at some point or even on a subconscious level, even the most original sounding artist(it's all been done already to some degree), it's how you rip off(graciously borrow) the artists material, that's the hard part, putting your twist on the greats can make it a very pleasing result, or to some something of an ear bleed(just read one of my two reviews). I watched a program on tv think it was public broadcasting, not sure, but it was Paul McCartney, and many big great artist talking about certain songs on a juke box(it was planned this way, all the songs on the jukebox they talked about, very cool concept, and they were explaining some of there favorite songs, and how they took them and just changed them a touch. It was one of the coolest shows I had ever seen. All these great , some legendary musicians explaining how they ripped off some of the old famous songs. How cool is that to have Paul McCartney say he made a song off of something you wrote. JH maybe one of you saw it and can tell me the name of the program... Keep in mind, when I say no one does my thing, no one does because I am me, do I have influences and have certain sounds that resemble other of my favs, sure I;d be a fool to believe other wise.... peace Jostel... As for the Nazi's well, I won't even waste my time with those Knuckle Heads, hating in any form is a F@#$%$% JOKE, and I won't bring them into the light or give them any existence, no words or breath forming on this peaceful palate, I commend you for your stance though, I would have done the same, F%^& that place if they allow that kind of bull shit,,,dam almost made it without swearing.......
