In 1987, while living in San Jose, California, I met Ted Smith of the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition, an independent watchdog organization set up by Smith and his wife. I learned that even though CFCs were banned in aerosol cans in 1978 that IBM in San Jose, Ca. and DUPONT Maryland were both using CFCs in high volume to clean computer chips. Since we have been looking we have found quite a few and often they surprise us with their crappy terms of service.
