How Bout this frickin' site!!!! Give it up to "The Goat". You guys have made this site look so rad. Congrats!!! I know you have all been working hard on it for the last few months. I have to say it has been well worth the wait.

I to have been hard at work recording, mixing, and producing several projects that will soon be unleashed on your ear holes. Maldroid went into the studio a couple of weeks back to record a few more tracks to round out what will be Maldroid's first full length album. The next record we will be releasing, prior to our full length, will feature the songs "He Said, She Said" and "You Can Have It All". These two previously released songs have been spiced up thanks to the "Backbeat Wizard" Michael Urbano and pure brilliance from DIvine Genius. We have had our fingers crossed in hope of Amp Live doing another remix for us this time around and it looks like it is going down. Pailboy has been hard at work on new recording new material. We are going to be releasing a bunch of "Decorator Mixtapes" of unreleased material, b-sides, and songs that have samples we will never get cleared. Check out our Halloween Mixtape at the bottom of this post. "Halloween Story", "Cherry Bomb", and "I Want The World" are all up for free download until next Thursday when we will put up new songs for download. Royalty is recording a new E.P. and it is sounding great. I am also working with local darlings Panda who are changing their name soon. Send them your ideas for names at panda.fuzz.com ... they need help!! Last, but not least, I'm mixing the Switchblade Riot record. These guys have put their blood and guts into this album and I think we got that visceral feeling on the record.

Anyway, I'm back and will be starting a recording tips, tricks, and advice Blog here on Fuzz beginning next week. I will be taking questions from Fuzz users about the vast world of recording music. I will do my best to give the info you need to make your home or studio recordings the best they can be. I will also feature interviews with other music makers that can show us all a few things. So start thinking of questions you would like to have answered. It could be anything from how to make the best home recording using a four track (do they even make those anymore?), to advanced questions about recording with Pro Tools or other professional recording gear.

Till Next Time,
Johnny Genius

On a another note...On August 9th Royalty will play with Maldroid at The Stork Club in Oakland. THIS WILL BE ROYALTY'S LAST SHOW (before we take a sabbatical). In our time off Tommy will be working for National Geographic in Washington D.C., Mike will be going to graduate school in New York City, Ronnie will be building the skyline of San Francisco, and I (Johnny) will start work on Royalty's long awaited 2nd effort in recorded music as well as working with other bands such as The Phenomenauts, Maldroid, Switchblade Riot, Panda, Pailboy and the long awaited solo album from the "Backbeat Wizard" Michael Urbano titled "Drums,Drums,Drums".

Till next time, be good but not to good.

On my block tonight I have heard gun shots to numerous to count. So far it's been two gun fights about 20 minutes apart. The cops are driving around now, but they look lost.

Being a recording engineer and musician I am fascinated with sound. The strangest thing about tonight is that besides the gun shots, it is silent outside. No screaming no crying no sirens no "ghetto bird" no cars signing names in the pavement. Just silence and a bird chirping.

I live in Oakland, the city I grew up in. I love this place but sometimes it gets to me. Every city has it's dark sides, but this one has such a bright one as well. The music and art coming out of this city is some of the best I have experienced in my life. Oakland needs to be recognized for something positive soon. There is something bubbling up here, and when it pops, this city will go down in the books as the home to one of the most influential, forward thinking, and powerful art scenes in the world.

The cops gave up and are no longer driving around looking lost. The bird stopped singing. It is silent.
Kinda last minute but if anyone is looking for something to do tonight.....

Royalty at Bottom Of The Hill Doors at 8pm we are first at 8:30 or 9:00. We have shirts for sale for the first time ever thanx to Todd of Maldroid. The rest of the show is going to rad as well. DESA, Facing New York and An Angle. Hope to see ya'll there.
