Everybody loves free shit. Especially when it isn't shit.. and from the looks of it Matador Record's annual "Intended Play" sampler is anything but. With a tracklist including Jay Reatard, Cat Power, New Pornographers, Dead Meadow, and Mission of Burma it can't really go too wrong, and did I mention it was free?

how does a blog begin? for me, wondering who orchestrated this.. was it some megalomaniac micheal jackson fan and prison head, or an eccentric inmate's successful attempt at uniting the prison's factions under a common cause. i will probably never know, but apparently it's only a practice run, so maybe we still have time to shoot over to the philippines and catch the final performance..
