DAMAGED GOODS – A potted history

Damaged Goods was started in1988 from a living room in East London by Ian Damaged. The first release was a re-issue of the 1977 single by Slaughter And The Dogs ‘Where Have All The Bootboys Gone?’. After great reviews in all the UK weeklies it was followed swiftly by the bands Debut album ‘Do It Dog Style’. Releases by Adam & The Antz, Killjoys, Pork Dukes and Snivelling Shits followed.
Originally DG was going to be a re-issue punk label but by 1990 the temptation to release current bands got too much and singles by The Roadholders, The Sect and the debut Manic Street Preachers followed.
In early 1991 we released our first single by Billy Childish & Thee Headcoats, many more swiftly followed including the debut Headcoatees single as well. We now work closely with Billy looking after his entire catalogue.
Between 1992 & 1994 we released the debut single from Helen Love along with great one off singles with Atari Teenage Riot, New Bomb Turks, Wat Tyler & Asian Dub Foundation. By 1995 DG was a full time occupation concentrating on the UK garage scene based around Toe Rag studios in London and Slim Chance’s Wild Western Rooms in Archway as well as top one off Indie & Punk releases as well.
In 1995 we released the debut Holly Golightly album ‘The Good Things’ little did we know then that she would go on to be our biggest artist. We have now released ten albums by Holly with a new solo album planned for late 2007.
Over the next ten years we’ve done records with some great bands like J Church, TV Personalities, Armitage Shanks, Honeyrider, Revillos Mikabomb, Priscillas and many more.
We have now released over 280 different records on every conceivable colour of vinyl as well as having the full catalogue available digitally via iTunes etc. We also export to every part of the planet that wants our releases.
Now in our 19th yeah the releases keep coming, we’ve added The Buff Medways & The Buzzcocks to our roster along with regulars like Billy Childish, Fabienne Delsol and of course Holly.
Over the last year we've had new artists like the very wonderful Pete Molinari (Folk Blues from Medway) and The Wolfmen (Marco and Chris from Adam and the Ants new band) and the great 'Christmas tree On fire' from Holly Golightly
2007 kicked off in fine style with new albums from Mr Wild Billy Childish and The Musicians Of The British Empire and the first album from Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs. Fabienne Delsol's second album is coming along nicely too and The Singing Loins have a new album on the way too. The Briefs are recording a set of 4 7" singles for their tour with the Misfits later in the year and we're hopefully re-issuing and old album as well. Pete Molinari is recording in ToeRag for a possible new album in the summer. We've also got classic re-issues from Psykik Volts, Thee Headcoatees, Johnny Moped, Pork Dukes, Rudi, The Revillos and lots more besides.

Roll on the next 19 years….
Hmmmm….maybe…

there is this song called 'ANTI', it needs ears to find a home, go listen and maybe the highly raved about acoustic single will find a place to lay it's tone, much love Jostel, p.s. don't be afraid, it's just me pouring out my soul, all emotions you feel are reel and are regarded vital in sustaining a meaningful life,......

Warning!
Are you sure?
