My lovely boss said I could take today off. So I got up at 8:30, went to work out, and.....started checking and responding to work e-mails. ???????. I already decided that if I work Monday, I will be caught up enough to really rock on a lot of new stuff I have to do. I am a sick puppy.
Since I have been at Fuzz, I have gained 10 pounds. Mind you, I am constantly on a diet. HOT. Maybe it is because i have had a broken foot. Maybe it is because I love reality TV when I am tired after a 14 hour day at ye ole office, hanging out with a brew and some cookies. I finally braved my worst enemy today: the scale. I am offically the fattest I have ever been. I almost did not come into work.
Hi Kids. Tonight my lovely boys in Maldroid are playinig at the Stork in Oakland. There is free beer for the first 50 people in the door. Their friends Push to Talk and Street to Nowhere are going to be there. There are always a ton of cute boys there (way more than I ever see in SF) tons of adorable ladies (and all the boys in the office say I look very pretty today, too). Come and ride this train.
XOXOXOOX
cubicle farm
monotonous office environment characterized by white collar slaves wasting there lives in pseudo-offices with four foot walls while slowly morphing into zombies.
After 3 hours in the cubicle farm, i could feel my brain turning into a mushy mass of rotten pudding-like material.
For realsy, there have been maybe two or three times in my whole life when I saw an amazing amazing band in a club where there were 30 or less people, and I thought THESE KIDS ARE GOING TO BE HUGE, and I knew that I was in the presence of something that would be amazing and pop culture changing. Those three times were when I worked for Sony as a kid, and I saw Rage Against The Machine at the Berkeley Square (who else remembers that space?), where there were 5 kids and me. Time two was me, who...
Come out to the Stork Club in Oaktown 3-5-7 tonight for free beer (for the first 50 peeps in the door), hot guys, hot gals and some amazing music by the sweet and fabulous gents known collectively as MALDROID.
Lots of love,
OTTER-POPS!
Zanne decided that the office was a sty, and needed a "clean sweep." Along with a rad Vanilla Ice trading card, she found a pile of "Tahoe Summer Cards," that Live 105 had given us. They are for free food and activites in Tahoe. If yo are going to be going up there, let me know and we will hook you up!
Just put this on my events, but I just got asked to DJ (again) at the Paul Frank Store in SF on September 4th. It seriously is sooo much fun everytime I do it- the cutest people I have ever seen in the city, getting trashed for free. RAD. Mark the calendar and make it happen.
XOXOXO
It is going to be radness....free booze + food, and we can throw stuff at special guest DJ AM.
Travis is already going as my +1, so if you want to go, you can be my +2.
Holla back, all interested parties
Stephen Morris: 'We wouldn't have made it without Tony Wilson'
New Order/Joy Division drummer recalls life with the Factory legend
10 hours ago
New Order's Stephen Morris has spoken to NME.COM at length following the death of Tony Wilson.
The Manchester legend signed Morris' first band Joy Division to his Factory Records label, and then continued to support the group and release its records after they became New Order following frontman Ian Curtis' suicide in...
I had cancer. My grandfathers both died of it. IT IS HORRIBLE and I HATE IT.
Tonight I found out that one of my idols was taken way too early from this heinous disease.
Tony Wilson lost his fight today at 2:54pm.
For those that do not know who he was, he opened the Hacienda in Manchester, THE spot that spawned what is one of the most amazing, inspiring and gorgeous phases in music history, the "Madchester" scene. The Smiths played there. Joy Division did their residency at the...
It is a million degrees in our office, and we decided to take a ten minute break and look on YouTube for my fave topic....BIGFOOT!! (Zanne just rolls her eyes and goes along with me).
I totally believe in Bigfoot. Yes. I do. My fourth grade teacher said he saw one when camping. Why would a fourth grade teacher lie to my whole class? Videos of supposed sightings PISS ME OFF. I get all excited, like MAYBE THERE IS NEW FOOTAGE. But alas. Why cant some fool just give me what I want...some...
I finally tracked down a copy of "Live Forever: The rise and fall of Britpop"
I only had a chance to watch the first 40 minutes, but I was DYING, so good, so amazing, so gorgeous.
The film chronicles the "rise" of the Madchester movement, as well as early to mid 90's bands such as Pulp (!!), Oasis, and Blur (DAMON ALBARN FOREVER!!!!). Besides showing the landscapes of the UK which I drool over, the cinematic extravaganza examines the political importance and...
