All of these would work if I could get to my start menu!!! It doesn't appear when my computer loads up.

Did you try this:

* Open the Windows Task Manager by either pressing CTRL+ALT+DEL, selecting the Processes tab or selecting Task Manager and then the process tab on WinNT/2000/XP machines. * Locate one of the following programs (depending on variation), click on it and End Task or End Process MSBLAST.EXE PENIS32.EXE TEEKIDS.EXE MSPATCH.EXE MSLAUGH.EXE ENBIEI.EXE * Close Task Manager

Are you able to start the computer in Safe Mode? If my memory serves me correct, I believe you can do that by hitting F2 or F12 when you restart the computer and the Setup Menu appears at the beginning. This will only load the basics when restarting. You can also do a Step-By-Step startup as well. I am surprised your anti-virus program did not detect this. If you can get it started and connected to the internet, I do believe that there are sites that can give your computer a free scan for viruses. Check out PC World. They are full of tools for the computer.

Safe mode (usually F8) is definitely worth a try if you can't prevent the computer from automatically shutting down. I would even worry more about your anti-virus program. I'd suggest to consider new programs after you deleted the worm: Install Spybot, run system scans once a week with ewido (http://downloads.ewido.net/ewido_micro.exe) or a-squared (http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/). Check your firewall settings and of course your browser settings (Firefox!!!).

Yes change your antivirus and download your browser updates. You can hold down 'ctrl' on some laptops F5 on others and F8 on yet others. If you do get back into the windows system [if you use windows] you will need to disable your system restore before attempting anything. Otherwise the next time you boot - woomp there it is. I would also look for RootKits.

Another couple of very good programs are 'hijackthis' and the 'stinger' removal stuff.

Hijackthis shows everything that starts at boot. [sometimes even things that don't want to be seen] It can also be used to disable and remove things that even Norton's can't do things with.
