I have mentioned this to a few people in passing but the reason why I have such an ifinity for music is that for me it is a memory keepsake!! My mind is a vessel of all things special or even dishearteneing and music brings those memories back to me like they just happened!

A song from years ago, as I just told 2Serenity about Aaliyah's "back and forth"...that came out the summer I met my husband! I remember smiling at him in a room full of people watching her video. Or I will embarrass myself just a bit and say that bonnie tyler's "I need a hero" reminds me of this book "Witch" by Christopher Pike I read in the 7th grade. These are just a few examples of why music will be a part of my everyday routine, life and my heart!!! There is nothing like hearing a song that has just put a smile on my face or even made me a bit sad. That is pure emotion and that IS music!!!

To my Fuzz Artists: I look forward to listening to your music that suddenly takes me back!!!

SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCHES!!

As a perfectionist...the song by bonnie tyler is "holding out for a hero"...I know you won't judge me...I am just a bit OCD! Thanks FAThEaD!!!!

Freebird takes me back to seventh grade school dances and trying to be the coolest kid in the gymnasium by kissing throughout the whole dam "spinning" song. Remember that, the slow spinning dark gymnasium kiss trance. When I finally performed this slobbery, tongue twisting ritual, I knew then and only then, that 'Stairway' would be my Everest. My lips feverish with lipstick smears would be ready. THe song then played, I commenced to kissing, YOu will not see me frozen on the trail to love three quarters up / through the song my friends, I am a gamer, I am a champion, I made it to the top, under extreme conditions too. Teachers, the principle, friends, enemies, the other little hot chicks, 100 degree temps, coke and cake belly, and finally the parent chaps. I put it all on the line. It was 'Stairway', It was the times , and I would set the precedence ........ Not since Alabama's "play me some mountain music" had there been such a challenge. There, at those climbs, those spinning smorgasbords of quench, nicknames like "the Tongue" were made. Music does take me back :) jostel

@Jostel: Beautifully put!! haha...you were just a bit older than I so the song I remember at our school dances was 'Angel' by Aerosmith!!! Sheeeeeeeesh, I remember the anticipation of being asked to dance and you know, our school was not the biggest so there were some slim pickings!! That was always the last song too!!! awwwwwwww....freebird really takes me back too!!! Sid's cousin played that song while driving around one night in Chandigarh and I was back in Whitingham for 3 minutes! Btw...I remember the first time I saw you...you were in the hallway reading a book...noticed that a whole bunch of girls were looking at you, you started to read aloud. You were cheeky then and will always be so ;)

So so true! Music is definitely my favored soundscape to meditate, create and work too. I cannot imagine a day without music. It would be almost sacrilegous for me NOT to have music on at all during any day!

Great expression. Simple, direct and meaningful.

I know what you mean. Music has always done that to me. Every time I hear "Don't Cry Out" by Shiny Toy Guns it makes me think back to how I used to like this one person and how much I always thought about them. Even though I don't anymore, that song still brings me back to those times now.
And last night I went to see She Wants Revenge and all their songs are about messed up relationships and how both the girl and the guy are screwed up emotionally from the past and from the games they play with one another (it's great, you should listen!) and even though my boyfriend and I are over all of our issues and bad feelings, I was still sad during the set because of everything that music made me feel before.
Pretty crazy. Lyrics are stronger than our sense of smell it seems. Brings back more than ever.

Music always showers me with emotions buried deep inside. It brings back immaculate memories of moments which defined me. Those are the moments when daily routine doesn't matter. I start to realize how my life has been so far and what it still has to offer.

@SVT: Whoa...very eloquently put my friend!!!

I was telling my Sid (my husband) about my blog this morning on our way to get coffee a few blocks away and he was telling me about some of his songs...One was of Maxie Priest "I want to be close to you"...before we were married we lived together and there were many nights that we would just stay up talking and we were taking turns back and forth playing music that we loved and that song was one of our favorites (shows our age ;)) and it brought me back to that night and the sincerity of his desire to really get to know the 'real' Chris...he never calls me Christine nor do I call him Siddharth. Anyways, it was a beautiful night that was lost to me until this morning!!!
