Sooo, kids don't go to record stores anymore, all the major labels are drastically downsizing their staff (anyone read the 2007 re cap issue of Rolling Stone??)... One thing that will always remain sacred in the world of music is the LIVE SHOW. It is also one of the only ways artists can still make any money, besides licensing opportunities and selling merch... Well this weekend is a great weekend of really talented and eclectic artists playing right here in the bay area. GO SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC, AND ENJOY YOURSELF TO THE FULLEST WHILE DOING SO...
In the world of JAZZ : TONIGHT and Friday Night (1/10 & 1/11) @ The Boom Boom Room in SF, DAS VIBENBASS !! If you didn't catch them last time they were in town, here is your chance, and you have 2 nights to choose from. They are the real deal. Extremely tight live band!! In the world of ROCK : SATURDAY NIGHT in OAKLAND @ a new venue called THE GHOST TOWN GALLERY (2519 San Pablo Ave. / Oakland) We have a fantastic line up going on... THE DILETTANTES (featuring Joel Gion from Brian Jonestown Massacre) headlining, In the middle spot we have, THE PINK SNOWFLAKES (awesome psychedelic rock band from Portland OR) & opening the show is CHOTO BOOTH. This will be an incredibly cool show not to be missed. I am really excited about this one. Be there. Be a part of this. You will have a jolly good time... Hope to see you there!
