In other news, while I am getting some pretty great nibbles for Austin jobs (not bites, just nibbles), my house has not yet sold and I just reduced the price on it. This does not make me happy. So I wrote a pissy mysp*ce blog about it. Here it is, if you want to read it. Beware, vitriolic content.

Dear Philadelphia Home Buyers: Smarten Up, Fast

My house has not yet sold. This bums me out. And while I am quite surprised at the amazing amounts of showings my home has had (it set a record for most views in its first week on the market), the people that are viewing it have clearly not seen the value and opportunity my house holds.

Today I had a showing, I saw them enter my house. I was optimistic about it, seeing them go inside. They looked like a young-ish couple (early 30s, late 20s, who knows?) and "like me." I walked around for half an hour, then walked back past them on Federal street. The young-ish woman was COMPLAINING about my house. "I don't know, it's just too much work, it's just everything..." is what I heard. Of course, she may not have been talking about my house, but OH COME ON. And I know there is a lot of houses on the market to look at, but my house is a gem, and it's HUGE, and it's in an amazing location.

The good news is, I don't have to sell my house to move. I can rent it out and make a little profit. That would be fine. I just need the capital to buy a new home in Austin. But I can still move and have an awesome life there.

Buyers: Stop being fucking pussies. There is always work to do when you buy a house. ALWAYS. You don't want to do any work? BUY A SHITTY NEW CONDO. Don't look at my huge old brick rowhome built in 1912.

Also, buyers: BE AWARE that mortgage rates are going up, FAST. snooze now, you PAY MORE in interest rates a few months down the road.

Buy my house soon. You have until the end of September. Then there's a new game you won't get to play.
