UFOs, Sasquatch? Axel? a fun short film. Poignant, really. And there's a shout-out to Oakland (he wears the jersey, don't ya know).
When a band tells me they think their label may not allow them to sell their music here at Fuzz, what can I say? Do bands really sign away their publishing rights in perpetuity for a pressing of a few thousand? Honestly, without reading their contracts for them, what can I tell bands about signing here at Fuzz?
This weekend was fun, extra extended since I had house guests/party people in starting Wednesday night, then ran down to D.C. for two more days and nights of fun. Little Turbojugend things, no big whoop. Had many opportunities to talk to everyone about Fuzz, and got a reply which is the subject header of this blog entry.
To date, everyone I know has noticed that I mention Fuzz at every opportunity. And yet, not enough bands I harrass have signed up. Why is this? Fuzz is free, it's less...
then you need to know about Suck and Blows. Suck and Blows are deceptively simple: an interactive jello shot. One plastic tube, two mouths. One person sucks, the other blows the shot into the waiting mouth, and wham. It's pretty hilarious. Why is it so funny? I don't know. Make a bunch, bring a tray out at your next party, and see who has skills, who gets scared, who has strong lungs. Then when it's over, think of the innuendo. "Man, I blew so many people at this party...
Clockcleaner are a truly intense, nasty-sounding band with vicious senses of humor. They make great records and even give good interviews. And they are even good-looking and like to party, but not like assholes party. They party by making mix tapes, drinking beers, and booty-dancing out of the back of their van. Going to see Clockcleaner is like tripping. They always use a strobe light when they play, sometimes it's soothing, othertimes it makes me sick and I have to hide my face. But I...
This is old news, but worth a closer look.
The Buzzcocks are in a television ad, again. It's a montage of people blowing out candles on birthday cakes while "Everybody's Happy Nowadays" plays. I, the commerical-intolerant TiVo owner had to have this pointed out to me. It's a fun ad.
After the initial "holy shizz/gasp/no way/ha ha ha ha" moment passed, I had some thoughts.
This is one million times better when "What Do I Get" was in the car ad a...
I totally love this song, have to get it on vinyl soon. My favorite parts are Lil Mama's voice, the handclaps, the breakdown with no music (!), and the part where she sings "I BE LOVIN IT, I BE I BE LOVIN IT! AND, I BE USING IT, I BE BE USING IT!" So catchy and perfect, I haven't felt this way about a hip-hop single since Kelis' "Milkshake" and tangentially, "Dick in a Box."
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, LIL MAMA!!
I do not live in Tallahassee, but if I ever go there, I'm gonna have to visit Superperros. The burgers look really wrong, and check out the theme music! Total dance party burger place!
