Almost a year ago, I had a chance to see the Israeli band Monotonix play at Mezzanine in San Francisco. They opened for the Silver Jews and played with total energy. The crazy thing is that they didn't even play on the main stage, but actually on the floor. It was weird - you couldn't see the band, but could hear the blistering guitar and thumping drums - but the highlight was watching their lead singer running around the room like a madman, hanging from the rafters, standing on the PA... it was nuts. Great hard-driving music - go check 'em out. You won't be disappointed...
