Bio
I have been a professional guitarist my whole life. My success came at a young age since I started playing as a very young boy. I worked hard and by the time I was in my teens I was playing at world class level. I toured for most of my late teens and early adult life. At 25 years old I gave my life to Jesus and moved to Rockford, IL. with my wife Pam. We raised 2 children that are married now and have given us 2 grandchildren each. I still maintained a pretty extensive travel schedule until 2000. Today I am still a professional guitarist, I also own a recording studio that I have operated for 30 years. *(I just won 4-12-2007 recording studio, and recording engineer of the year for the RAMMI awards)* I also build my own line of custom guitars. I accepted a staff position at Heartland Community Church 12/31/2005 as a recording engineer/guitarist. Most of my performing these days is at Heartland Community Church (4 services per weekend or more), which is one of the fastest growing churches in the country. These days I spend a lot of time with my wife and our 4 fabulous grandchildren. WOW God you have really blessed me!

You're a good guitarist, yes. But, the music goes a bit more for "flash" than substance. It is lacking genuine feel.

To exclaim yourself as "World Class" is a bit pompus and arrogant. If you were "World class", the world would have taken notice of your playing, and know who you are.

But, that said, you are very good.

DB, Your "Song For Mom" has been uplifting for me for personal reasons. I have included your piece in a playlist that I call my "Epic/Experimental Sounds". I would be grateful if you could add some commentary about this song at my Playlist [just click on the "Epic/Experimental Sounds" referenced below]. I take the liberty to "copy and paste" a note that I just wrote to Nixe, with whom I have been discussing the over-all theme of "epic sounds". Your input about "Song For Mom" and/or the setting in which it resides would greatly enhance the enjoyment of the listeners of this piece. Many thanks in advance and Happy New Year to you.

[cc of my note to Nixe follows]:

Nixe, you overwhelm me with your detailed comments on my playlist, Epic/Experimental Sounds. In truth, this complilation grew iteratively "like Topsy" after I put together three or four pieces that seemed to have a common theme that reasonated with one part of my minds-ear which is given to open spaces and limitless horizons. I then kept adding, re-arranging, and even dropping songs [as in the good old days on a rainy Saturday afternoon sorting through those vinyl round things called "records" now, sadly, in storage] to reinforce and add nuance to that feeling that I think is universal and hard-wired into our DNA. [You or listeners of this playlist may find of interest the link to a separate blog thread (just provided) that makes for thought-provoking reading, particularly as this playlist is all the while reasonating in the background!]

Your own perspectives will greatly aid the current and, hopefully, growing listeners of my "Epic Sounds" playlist [whoever they may be] in appreciating what was, to me, an intuitive effort to combine a sense of grandeur and adventure [caravans and sweeping vistas of the mind and spirit] with innocence [which was, indeed, why I added "Baibaba Bimba" - what an uplifting piece.] Both the "externalized and internalized sense of universal wonder" as you well describe the over-all intent of the playlist was created in positive counterpoint and marked contrast to much of what is dark and brooding in our music today - also, for a reason [but that is another subject].

Thank you for sharing such experienced aural and intellectual sensibilities with the listeners of these pieces who can now take their own view of the combined works of these artists to another level. To me, as I tinker with this list, it can only get better.

On my side, I will now try to pull in the artists who make up this evolving list to add commentary if they wish. I hope some of them will, but, of course, that will be up to them as I can appreciate that many artists prefer for each piece to speak for itself. To me, the "name of the game" to advance music in the web-based era, however, is increased, rather than diminished, engagement between artist and listener. Let's see what happens next here [if anything] as I "copy and paste" this blog thread on the artists' sites.

Again, many thanks.

DB, in checking out your MySpace site, I noted you ask whether anyone has "any ideas?" about a record label [in respect of which you say "I'm working on it."]

I believe Fuzz has developed a flexible business model to accommodate the development of a multitude of indie labels in every phase of development from artists in a self starting phase to already well-established labels looking to optimize their costs of distribution of their own line up of artists.

While to date I believe Fuzz has focussed more on the Fuzz/Artist connection, I understand that over the course of the next several months, there will be further developments that are more specifically directed to the Fuzz relationship with other labels.

While this work-in-process gains traction, as you become more familiar with the dynamics of the existing Fuzz platform, you should find that even the existing template can provide much that you need as your own "start-up" label [if this is the direction in which you are headed].

Good to have you here on this site. I find your music most uplifting.
