Bio
A little background on this rockin' and rollin' band ... Brian aka "The Duke" always knew he wanted to make cool music. He wanted to combine the elements of all the greats he grew up listening to, namely the old rockabilly cats and Johnny Cash. He perfected this out on Canada's east coast, learning from old time pickers, who taught him the craft. "Six-Gun Steve" has been playing bass for many a long year. He has been in the well known London bands, 'Black Holes' and 'Frankenstein 5'. Now he is living out his dream, of playing pure old time rockabilly. "Swingin' Mike Sheehan" has been playing drums for more years than he can remember ! He has been a member of the Toronto band 'Vacant Lot' and also a founding member of 'The Screamin' Black Cadillacs'. He grew up on 'Stray Cats' and rockabilly standards which fit into his style of playing to this day. "Cool Daddy Paul" was also a founding member of 'The Screamin' Black Cadillacs'. He schooled himself in jazz licks at University, then applied this knowledge to his rockabilly pickin' you hear him play now. The guy's first got together in early 2007 and quickly found out that they had quite a bit in common and hit it off musically right away. They started out with covering the standard rockabilly classics and some rare 50's songs. They soon progressed onto writing their own songs up to the point where they could do a whole show of original material if need be. March of 2007 found the band with their first show at The Brunswick Tavern in London. The show was very well recieved and it started the group on a monthly run of shows there with each one becoming more polished and better attended to the point of packing the place so one could not move. The band was establishing themselves as a new and exciting live act in the city.
They followed that up with opening shows for well established bands 'The Matadors' and 'Trole'. Early summer saw the guy's play their first show in Toronto, seeing what it was like to play in a huge market for the first time.

During the fall months the group worked on releasing some demo songs recorded in their practice space and had a few of the songs gain air play on CHRW Radio Western, one of them reaching the # 1 spot. 2008 will see the band continuing on playing it's rockin' and exciting shows, working on more original material and entering the studio to release their first disc.

That's excellent. Normally I'm not a fan of retro sound and -styling, but you just make a very current and modern style out of it.
